LIGHTNING POLICY
In the case of inclement weather, please continue play until the weather system sounds or until a member of the professional staff requests otherwise.
- Neither Linville Ridge nor any of its employees has any duty or obligation to notify members using the GOLF COURSE; CROQUET COURT; TENNIS COURT; SWIMMING POOL areas when to seek shelter due to dangerous weather conditions. If you choose not to seek shelter when potentially dangerous weather is in the area, you do so at your own risk.
- It is the member’s obligation to notify guests that neither Linville Ridge nor any of its employees has any duty or obligation to notify guests using the above areas to seek shelter due to dangerous weather conditions. When authorized personnel and/or the Linville Ridge alarm system advise you to seek shelter, it is imperative that you do so.
- Linville Ridge is equipped with Strike Guard Course Alert II. The system will indicate a high tone multiple solid signal when lightning is detected within a 5-mile radius of Linville Ridge. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. When lightning has not struck in the 5-mile radius and the time of 15 minutes has elapsed, a flashing tone signal indicates lightning has not been detected within the 5-mile radius of Linville Ridge.
- Linville Ridge employees are required to seek shelter immediately at the sounding of the high tone multiple solid signal and are not permitted to assist members or guests until the flashing tone signal has been sounded.
- Linville Ridge emphasizes that members and guests have the right and are encouraged to seek shelter if they think lightning threatens them, even though Linville Ridge may not have authorized it specifically by signal. If you choose not to seek shelter in inclement weather, you do so at your own risk.
